Introducing Racing Green's Parka
Here at Racing Green we are proud to introduce to all our customers the summer parka, we have the parka available in two great colours! Both navy and sand and you can find the fantastic garment in our outerwear casual jackets collection. The cotton material ensures you always look contemporary and the coat also features a wax style coating that will gradually soften as it gets worn.
The word parka comes from the Nenets language and in the Aleutian Islands the word's definition is "animal skins", and was first known to enter the English written record in 1625.
In the past the parka coat was a big heavy jacket with a hood often lined with fur, leading it to become the perfect protection from the elements such as the cold and wind. The coat was originally made from caribou or seal and was first invented by Eskimos in the Arctic region, who required a garment that would protect them from both the freezing temperatures and wind whilst they carried on their everyday lives hunting and kayaking.
Parka's first emerged in to society in 1951 when the US army wore the fishtail parka. It wasn't until the 1960's that Britain introduced the fishtail parka, which became very popular and is known today to symbolise the era that was the 'Mods'. Parka coats continued to become very popular thanks to them being practical, cheap and available.
Today more modern version of the parka are readily available in terms of raincoats, jacket and overcoats, and they only vaguely resemble the traditional parka. Racing Green's version is ideal for the upcoming summer months, lightweight, longer line with a useful hood. It also has features such as the adjustable draw cords at the hood and waist, a zip pocket at the chest and much bigger pockets lower down. You will be lost without this coat being in your wardrobe this summer.

Since the business was established in 1845, Robert Mackie of Scotland from Stewarton, known still as “bonnet toun” has made traditional Scottish bonnets. For over 400 years the town can trace its bonnet making history but now the only company offering the service is Robert Mackie.
The company still manufacture a range of traditional bonnets used by clans, regiments and bands across Scotland but they have also branched out into a range of modern knitwear.
For our Mens Fashion accessories they have an extensive range of modern equipment and highly skilled staff producing designs of our styles of hat, gloves and knitted scarves.

Looking For a New Job
If work has become boring and you are looking for a new job or you have just finished education and are ready to delve into the world of work. Then you need to prepare to be interviewed.
As Oscar Wilde said, 'You never get a second chance to make a first impression'.
First Impressions count and they are based on what they see, hear and what you say.
Below are some very important bullets to get those first 10 seconds in the bag:
• Smile
• Make eye contact
• Raise your eyebrows
• Shake hands like you mean it
• Lean in slightly
• Adopt a serious attitude
Appearances count, so do get a haircut and trim any facial hair. If birds are nesting in your beard its not going to make a good first impression.
Try not to make an effort to impress, if you put on an act for the interview and get the job then you will have to continue an act while working, Be yourself.
First of all, you should dress formally to an interview regardless of what kind of job it is. It shows you appreciate the importance of the setting you're in and more to the point; everybody looks a great deal better in a formal suit.
When it comes to the suit opt for plain style in Navy suits or charcoal suits are the best for interviews.
Ideally, you should have a suit you only use for interviews, to keep it and you looking fresh.
Follow the above and you'll make that good first impression. All you have to worry about now are a few difficult questions.
A common question which you’ll most likely be asked is:
"Where do you see yourself in five years?"
We recommend you answer this question honestly, explain your long term goals, you don’t have to say you want to be there just where you want to be in your life. Companies like people with goals.
We suggest it’s a good idea to write a follow up email, thanking both the interviewer and the organiser; it may worth checking you have the relevant emails to do this before leaving the interview.
For Second interviews, it is worth having another suit to wear just to show the employers you have more than one suit, if that option is a bit pricy how about a new formal shirt to make the suit look different.
All the best for your job search and we hope you find that dream job.
